Content Management Considerations for Generative AI RAG

Vector vs Graph for metadata managementIn no uncertain terms, I’ve previously asserted that there is a looming disaster when supporting and maintaining the content management aspects of most AI solutions designed to deliver content, especially for technical documentation. In our seminal research project and paper, Document Object Model Graph RAG, A semantic, content-first, and knowledge-management architecture for neuro-symbolic RAG, we argued the following: “Critical content management capabilities are virtually absent from most Generative AI models. One can argue that the lack of vital content management capabilities in current models, such as those outlined in this paper, is tantamount to professional content management malpractice, exposing a company’s reputation, if not liability.”Those steeped in professional content management understand how essential content management capabilities are to our businesses. Few generative AI solutions have been designed with professional content management requirements as part of their architecture.
